Vest jacket collection made in collaboration with
patch over patch, a sustainable brand based in surat,Gujarat.
Inspired from the vest jacket of Himachal pradesh which is a common workwear utility jacket there.
Handcrafted and hand stitched with love by a young and vibrant group of Himalayan mountain women. It has rich kantha hand stitching and is blended with stripe fabrics. The creative technique of manufacturing these kimonos begins with the natti (traditional Himachal dance), followed by the skilled women's group meditatively adjoiing the parts by hand. Each work is imperfectly perfect and displays our shared love of textiles. The khaddhar fabrics and fabric shop scraps are carefully selected from Naggar Himachal's local market.

Utility vest jacket
The vest jacket, also known as the "Katkuni" jacket, takes its inspiration from the traditional houses found in Himachal Pradesh, India. These houses are built using interlocking wooden beams and stones, and the front panels of the jacket are designed to resemble this architectural style. The vest jacket is a practical and versatile piece of clothing, ideal for outdoor activities like hiking, camping, or fishing. It features multiple utility pockets that are perfect for storing essentials like phones, wallets, keys, and other small items. The pockets are often located in convenient places, making it easy to access your belongings without having to remove the jacket. The vest jacket is made from durable materials, such as cotton or canvas, and is designed to be both comfortable and functional. With its unique design and functional features, the vest jacket is a must-have for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors.

CRAFT RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Every year Kerala experiences heavy rainfall. Improper infrastructure at the cluster led rain to penetrate through the cardboard cartons resulting in damaging the dhotis.
To hep the cluster recover from this heavy loss,we had this idea for re purposing the dhotis by incorporating Jagokba Technique to make an elegant and exclusive bed linen collection
The collection includes curtains and bedspreads made by patchwork of dhotis, whereas the pillow covers and cusion covers were made using multi threadle weaving

Special thanks to Pinarayi Weavers Co-operative society for making this idea a reality
